Schoola Learn
A practice-first learning experience for secondary school students.
Solve for x: 2x² - 5x - 3 = 0
Context & The Problem
Students need more than access to lessons: they need repeated, structured practice and clear feedback on what they understand.
The initial product focuses on freemium practice, guided learning paths, free exploration, and mastery-oriented progress. Primary school learning is reserved for a separate future product.
My Contribution & Ownership
Leading technical planning and backend development, including the integration approach for curriculum-aligned practice and the separation of independent learning from school-managed workflows.
Architecture & System Flow
Planned integration between the mobile learning experience, Schoola backend services, and third-party practice content.
Guided subject paths and self-directed practice designed for secondary school learners.
Siyavula-powered practice content and learning interactions, subject to the available API capabilities.
Mastery-oriented progress tracking designed to help students identify what to practice next.
How practice progress is evaluated
Schoola Learn evaluates mastery through structured practice sessions aligned with curriculum standards. Proprietary grading algorithms, question selection engines, and school-district integrations are maintained in private services under employer non-disclosure. The client manages student practice state transitions, validates answers locally, and cleanly separates individual daily practice from teacher-monitored school workflows.
To respect enterprise confidentiality and intellectual property agreements, production source code for this learning platform is withheld. System design, state synchronization patterns, and domain abstractions are summarized in the architecture section above.
Engineering Decisions & Trade-offs
Secondary school first
Primary and secondary students have different learning needs and expectations for an educational interface.
Focus Schoola Learn on JSS1–SSS3; keep a more playful primary-school experience for a separate Schoola Kids product.
Guidance without restricting exploration
A fully prescribed learning path can prevent students from practicing topics they choose themselves.
Support both guided paths and independent practice rather than forcing one mode.
Limitations & What I'd Improve
- Schoola Learn is in development; features described here are product scope, not claims of a completed release.
- A separate Schoola Kids experience for primary students is a future direction.
